Today we cleaned fish and threw net. Our teacher was uncle Chu. The net parts are the piko, the eye and the skirt with the lead. First you separate the net in three equal parts. One on your shoulder another on your knee and then one in the middle that you grab in your hand. Grab the one on your knee and throw it like a frisbee.
We cleaned fish at Umeakapuhi where the puhi (eel) come out and eat the guts. So, you need a fork, spoon or a knife to clean fish. The kinds of fish we cleaned were Aholehole, Uhu, Nenue and Manini. When the fish is scaled you have to take all the guts out even the gills. Uncle Chu will send you back if you did not do it right.
